Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date rumors and news: Apparent promo image on Instagram spotted?

Microsoft is said to be gearing up for a late of the year release of its highly anticipated laptop, the Surface Book 2. According to reports, the device packs an impressive specs and features that will give Apple's upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 a run for its money once both devices hit the market. New reports suggest that the device may arrive anytime soon following an image posted by an official Microsoft Surface Instagram account that appears to be from the new Surface Book 2.

The photo, which was posted with a caption that says, "Your key to success," had fans excited and started to speculate that the second generating Surface Book may arrive earlier than expected.

Although Microsoft has yet to provide an official response regarding the alleged Surface Book 2 photo, Windows Central reported that the image was captured from an internal company video that was created to showcase different ideas for future Microsoft products. According to the publication, a source has informed them that the company already has the Surface Book 2 prototypes. If rumors prove to be true, the new laptop will come out with a dark-colored metal design.

Despite the heavy speculations regarding the release of the new laptop, Windows analyst Rudy Huyn said on his Twitter that the image actually came from a promotional photo for the first Surface Book model.

"Hey @verge and @windowscentral, sorry but it's a promo image of the original Surface book... ;)"

"About the Surface team, it's one of the most secret teams at @Microsoft, except VPs, no one knows what they do, so don't expect leaks" the analyst added "Never trust a Msfties when they speak about upcoming Surface, they brag a lot and lie, 99.9 percent of them receive news at the same time than us."

Meanwhile, Ecumenical News reported that Microsoft Surface Book 2 is expected to arrive with an improved hinge design; however, the company has yet to provide the official details of its development as of the moment.
