Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date news 2016: New laptop expected to come out in 2nd quarter of 2017
The Microsoft Surface Book 2 along with Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has been in the rumor mill for quite some time now. Previous reports suggested that the two devices will come out in 2016; however, new reports are saying that it may take another year before consumers can see them in retail stores.
According to a report by Ecumenical News, Microsoft will delay the release of Microsoft Surface Book 2 until 2017. The publication said that the American software giant is still waiting for the next generation Intel processor to be available. It has already been reported that the upcoming Kaby Lake processor will not be finished until early 2017.
The delay will certainly disappoint many fans; however, tech observers believe that the wait will be worth it as the company will build a powerful laptop for personal and business use.
One of the reasons for the delay is the development of the Windows 10 Redstone 2. According to industry experts, the full version of the new Windows operating system is not yet available, which have caused the company to hold the production of Microsoft Surface Book 2.
There are reports suggesting that the Redstone 2 operating system will not be ready until early 2017.
According to Christian Daily, the new laptop will most likely to arrive in the second quarter of 2017. By that time, both the Kaby Lake processor and the Windows Redstone 2 operating system will already be available.
There are also reports saying that Microsoft will release a new AIO PC this year. However, no release date has yet to confirm by the company.
Meanwhile, an interesting report coming from The Motley Fool suggests that the upcoming laptop may arrive with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060. However, the publication stated that the laptop will never be a gaming machine.
With all the rumors surrounding the development and release of the Microsoft Surface Book 2, fans are still expecting an official announcement from the company.
