Microsoft Surface Pro 5, MacBook Pro 2016 release date, specs news: What will be the deciding factor of their success?
Rumors are rife that the MacBook Pro 2016 and the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will both be released this year. The new Surface Pro 5 might likely be less costly but both brands have with them their own selling strengths and distinctive features and aspects that will attract consumers. Neither has been released yet but users are already predicting how the two models will fare when they hit the market.
The MacBook Pro 2016 will most probably sport a redesigned body with a lighter and thinner build but without veering away too much from the way its predecessor looked. The device is expected to have an OLED display touch bar right above the keyboard but with butterfly keys instead of the familiar function keys. It is also rumored to have a Touch ID sensor. Fans are also expected to enjoy the rumored 2304x1440 display of the all-new MacBook Pro 2016.
There is as well the possibility for the MacBook Pro 2016 to come with Intel's powerful Skylake processor. The Skylake processor works excellently alongside El Capitan OS thus guaranteeing that the device runs smoothly and the battery life is spent economically. With regard to the laptop's graphics, Apple can be partnering with AMD and Nvidia. These two companies are said to be producing high-quality graphics processing units (GPUs) for an improved quality of the laptop's graphics, particularly in games.
Meanwhile, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is rumored to be deriving its appearance from the build and design of its predecessor. Users can then expect the device to have a similar tablet body with a separable keyboard base which will come as an optional add-on. The Surface Pro 5 will also come with a more outstanding screen display than the Surface Pro 4 which already has a striking 2736x1824 IPS LCD screen and a pixel density of 267 pixels per inch (ppi). If this speculation is true, then the new Surface Pro users can expect their laptop to have a 4K or 5K screen resolution.
Some tech sites say that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will arrive with a 13.3-inch screen. However, Trusted Reviews refutes this theory arguing that the company already has a Surface book with a 13.5-inch screen and that Microsoft will want to keep an evident screen size distinction between its two series. The Surface Pro 4 has a screen size of 12.3 inches.
In addition, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will run on Core M processor with Intel Core i series upgrades which means that it will be less powerful than the Surface Pro 4. This might be the same case with the hybrid's graphics.
The MacBook Pro 2016 is rumored to be released in June at the Apple event called Worldwide Developers Conference. Its 13-inch model will probably cost $1,460 while its 15-inch variant will likely sell at $2,336. Curiously, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is rumored to launch in the same month although there are also some sources claiming that October would be its month of release. The Surface Pro 5 will likely sell at a more affordable price of $1,094.
