Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date and specs rumors: Hybrid to come out in 2017 with Kaby Lake and Redstone 2?
The upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has been a subject of several contradicting reports these days. Previous reports suggested that the new hybrid laptop will be launched before the year ends. However, according to the latest buzz, the highly anticipated device will not be released until 2017. The other Microsoft laptop called Surface Book 2 will also be delayed until next year.
Although the American software giant has yet to provide significant information with regard to these reports, many fans and critics believe that Microsoft is not ready to release a new product this year.
There are several reasons that need to be taken into consideration why Microsoft Surface Pro 5, Surface Book 2 and the company's flagship smartphone, the Surface Phone, will not be released this year.
According to the industry observers, Microsoft is said to be waiting for the next generation processor from Intel, the Kaby Lake. The powerful chip is said to be under development and will not be available until next year. The same goes for the new Windows operating system, the Redstone 2, which is said to be on the final stage of its development.
Nonetheless, fans should not be disappointed as the company is rumored to be planning to release an AIO PC, which is said to be a great alternative for both the Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2.
As of the moment, Microsoft has yet to provide its official statement with regard to their plan for 2016. If rumors prove to be true, all of the company's releases are expected to come sometime next year.
There have been speculations circulating all over the internet suggesting that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will arrive as the best hybrid laptop once it hits the market. It is said to carry impressive specs and features, which will be headed by the new Kaby Lake processor.
