Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date, specs news 2016: Hybrid laptop to come out in 2017 with Kaby Lake?
Several Microsoft releases have been in the rumor mill for quite some time now. Since the beginning of the year, rumors about Microsoft Surface Phone, Microsoft Surface Book 2 and the highly anticipated Microsoft Surface Pro 5 have been circulating all over the Internet. Previous reports suggest that the new Surface Pro 5 will be released before the year ends. However, the development of Intel's seventh generation core processor, the Kaby Lake, will not be finished until late this year. For that reason, the launching of the new Microsoft hybrid laptop will be moved to 2017.
Although Microsoft has yet to confirm these reports, many fans believe that it is only a matter of time before the company makes an official statement and provide concrete details about the new Surface Pro 5. According to a report by PC Advisor, the development of Windows' next operating system, Redstone 2, is also part of the reason why the device will be delayed. According to the publication, the new software will not be available until next year.
Meanwhile, Tech Times reported that the new device from Microsoft will be developed around the new Kaby Lake chipset. According to the report, the new processor will certainly improve the overall performance of the hybrid laptop. The powerful processor will be incorporated with other advanced specs to make sure the device will have 2K and 4K support. The new laptop will also carry better graphics technology with NVIDIA Pascal or AMD Polaris GPUs.
There are speculations saying that the new Intel processor will be paired with 6 GB of RAM for multitasking purposes.
According to the report, the non-4K model of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will come out with a price tag of $899. On the other hand, the top-tier variant with 4K support will be sold at $1,599. However, these are merely just speculations and must be taken with a grain of salt.
