Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date rumors: Could device come on Oct. 26 event?
Users have been wondering online whether they will ever get a fifth-generation Microsoft Surface Pro 5, but the company has just announced that it will have a Windows 10 event on Oct. 26. Fans are speculating wildly as to what will be announced when the day comes. Some of them guess that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will officially be launched by then.
According to PC Advisor, Microsoft is likely to use the event to launch a new desktop Surface, but it could also be the perfect time to announce a Surface Pro 5. Reviews for the Surface Pro 4 have been good so far and the arrival of an updated version is very welcome to users.
However, some say the device may still be coming out next year, as October may be too early to release a device which will run on Intel's next-gen Kaby Lake processor. It's likely that Microsoft may put the device on hold so that when it comes out, it will be equipped with the most high-end processors that the company has to offer.
As for the specs of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, some speculate that it will have a wider display, a USB C-Type port and a rechargeable Surface Pen.
Speaking of the Surface Pen, the device is reported to come with a magnetic charging dock, in lieu of triple-A batteries that present Surface Pens run on. The function is said to be similar to the iPad Pro's Apple Pencil which can be charged by connecting it to the device's lightning port.
The device is also said to have seven hours of battery life which could compete with the likes of Apple's MacBook Air and iPad Pro.
All of this is still speculation, so readers should take the info with a grain of salt.
