Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date, specs, features, news: 4K display, Surface Pen, Intel Kaby Lake
Just a few more hours left until Microsoft finally unveils the most awaited Surface Pro 5. Fans have been waiting for this hybrid device for awhile now. Fortunately, Microsoft has scheduled its debut and it's going to be during an event on Wednesday, Oct. 26, in New York.
But even before it could make its official appearance, the Internet is making some buzz with its rumored specs and features. Based on those speculations, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is going to be a tough competitor against other tech giants including Apple, which is also gearing up to release its MacBook Pro 2016.
Folks at Apple will have to brace themselves though as reports said the Surface Pro 5 is going to sport a 4K display. It's also said that there's going to be a 2K display variant. Rumor also has it that the upcoming device will be slimmer compared to its predecessor and will have a more powerful processor.
It's purported to feature the company's newest and fastest seventh-gen chipset, the IntelKabyLake processor together with 16 GB of RAM and the latest Windows 10 version, Redstone 2. Moreover, the device is speculated to introduce the Surface Pen stylus that is rechargeable using a dock. It's also even said to automatically charge when it is utilized to write on the Surface Pro 5.
Reports also detailed that a laptop-class keyboard with a dedicated connector will be unveiled to match the needs of the user while a USB Type C 3.1 port is going to be included for faster data transfers. A 16-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera are also speculated. The Surface Pro 5 is expected to have a lot of great elements including the capability to create 3D objects and Holograms with Microsoft's new Surface hardware, as reported in The Verge.
