Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date, specs news: Launch of upcoming 2-in-1 tablet delayed until May 2017?
Even if it is classified to be on the high-end side, the rumored Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is still one of the most highly awaited gadgets of 2017. Hence, there are many speculations on what specs and features will the 2-in-1 Surface table be equipped with.
As reported by Game N Guide, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is rumored to come with a 12.3-inch PixelSense screen. The gadget will reportedly be released in two variants. One of them will have a 2K resolution while the other one will be sporting a 4K Ultra HD resolution. For its internal specs, the 2-in-1 Surface Pro tablet could be powered by Intel's Kaby Lake processors and be equipped with 16 GB worth of RAM.
As reported by The Bitbag, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could also be built with huge internal memory that is as massive as 512 GB. The gadget may also have a better battery life in contrast to its predecessor, the Surface Pro 4.
It has also been previously reported that Microsoft could be making improvements on its Surface Pen. The new pen could be designed specifically to make wireless charging possible from its magnetic dock. This, if proven true, would be a drastic departure from the current Surface Pen's use of replaceable batteries.
Despite the anticipation from Surface fans and tech enthusiasts, Microsoft has yet to announce the official release date of the Surface Pro 5. However, a recent report from Yibada speculates that the release date of the gadget could be delayed until May 2017, just in time for the Microsoft Build conference scheduled on May 10–12, 2017.
There are also rumors that suggest that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could be launched next year during the Consumer Electronics Show or the Mobile World Congress, two events which Microsoft is an active participant of.
Regardless of which event Microsoft decides to launch their flagship 2-in-1 tablet, gadget users may reasonably expect its release sometime in 2017.
