'Monster Hunter XX' release date news 2016: new trailer released; new Renkin Style detailed

A new trailer and a bunch of fresh information about the highly-anticipated fighting game sequel, "Monster Hunter XX," has been revealed.

The new details come courtesy of Weekly Famitsu including the names of monsters that players will see in action in the "Monster Hunter X" follow-up.

These creatures coming to "Monster Hunter XX" include Ouma Diablos, Hellblade Glavenus, Silverpeak Gammoth, Heavenly Eye Mizutsune and Blue Lighting Master Astalos.

Fans will also love to know that "Monster Hunter XX" will bring back the Congalala, whom gamers last saw in "Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate."

Meanwhile, the magazine will also provide details on the new Renkin Style that players can employ in the game. It is described, as per a translation by Gematsu, as "an unconventional hunting style that excels in support."

With a use of a special barrel called "Great Renkin Barrel," which is not in the item pouch but can be accessed in the item menu, "Monster Hunter XX" players will be able to craft "Renkin Items." Players can add an item up to five times to Renkin.

As players fill up their Renkin gauge, they should be able to create something using the "Great Renkin Barrel," which can hold up to five stocks.

As for the items players can concoct with the Renkin Style, there is Renkin food, which boosts the Stamina value to maximum but also has the lowest delay and other food-type items.

In "Monster Hunter XX," players can also Hunter Arts Whetstone, which can recover sharpness and boosts the Hunting Gauge at a specific duration of time.

There is also the Renkin Style ball, which is specifically made for bow guns and a special bottle for bows, which allows players to get a serious boost in Hunting Arts when they shoot enemies.

"Monster Hunter XX" players can also make a vitality medicine to gradually restore their Stamina temporarily. In terms of battle, the Renkin Style will be of great use.

With it, players can make a Sound Wave Bomb, which fires a high-frequency wave that will allow gamers to fend off small monsters and other large ones.

For large beasts, "Monster Hunter XX" has the Renkin Earplug, which protects players from the roar of these gargantuan monsters once.

There is also the Speed Medicine, which gives players the ability to throw Great Renkin Barrels fast and increases speed in Renkin Style.

"Monster Hunter XX" also introduces the Renkin Increase, which works by increasing the quantity of a particular mix by players.

Additionally, there is the Renkin Bazooka, which is an explosive item shot from the Great Renkin Barrel, the Spirit Up Ball for boosting the Hunter Art Gauges of nearby allies and the Healing Barrel for restoring the Stamina of said allies.

"Monster Hunter XX" will be released in Japan on March 18, 2017 for the Nintendo 3DS.
