If the rumors are anything to go by, Motorola may be on its way to unveiling the third generation of its Moto E smartphone series this month. It is expected that the next Moto E model, also known as the Moto E3, will finally hit the market as early as August. This is according to the sources from Motorola UK branch.

Tech Droider reported that the Motorola UK division has already been giving the confirmation that the Moto E3 smartphone will be having a surprise release starting this month. It was earlier reported that the Moto E3 will be shipped later this year, with the possible shipping date in September.

The online publication also reported that the Moto E3 is going to be a mid-range smartphone device. It is said to follow the design of the Moto G4, although Moto E3 is going to have a sleek and slimmer body compared to the previous Moto E smartphones. Specifically, its body is expected to be only around 8.6 mm thick, a lot thinner than the Moto E2 having 12.3 mm body thickness. The recent Moto E device was released almost a year ago.

Moreover, the rumored specs of the Moto E3 include the 720x1280 screen display resolution. It will be packing with a Mediatek chipset with quad-core 1.0 GHz central processing unit (CPU), accompanied by an 8 GB internal memory with 1 GB worth of RAM. The RAM can be further extended up to 32 GB with the use of a built-in microSD.

The latest leaked photos as reported by Tech Times reveal that the Moto E3 might use Motorola's very own Splash Guard feature that involves a nano-coating technology feature to protect the smartphone and avoid damages in the surface due to accidental spills. The leaks confirm that the Moto E3 will have an 8.5mm or 9.33-inch body thickness. Its expected weight is around 135 to 140.6 grams.
