The Moto X was one of the standout devices in 2014 and it provided a good deal of competition to the plastic-clad Samsung Galaxy S5. However, with the release of the Galaxy S6, it is clear that the device from Motorola has a lot of catching up to do.

Design

The Moto X has its front covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 that curves towards its edges where an aluminum band is positioned. As for its back panel, it can be customized with a variety of materials including wood, leather and bamboo. As for the Galaxy S6, it has a rounded aluminum frame and it is encased with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on its front and back.

Display

Samsung has ensured that the Galaxy S6 has one of the best displays in the market. Its super AMOLED screen measuring 5.1 inches has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 577pixels per inch. As for the Moto X, it has an AMOLED screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch.

Specs

On the Moto X is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801chipset, coupled with a quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. As for the Galaxy S6, Samsung decided to use its own Exynos 7420 chipset which is coupled with a CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores running at 2.1 GHz, and a Mali-T760 GPU.

Memory

Both devices do not have any memory slot; hence, no external storage can be added. As for RAM, the Moto X has 2 GB, while the Galaxy S6 has 3 GB.

Camera

Comparing their cameras, the Moto X has a 13-megapixel version, while the Galaxy S6 has a 16-megapixel main shooter with optical image stabilization.

Price

The Galaxy S6 could be priced at around $699 without a two-year contract, while the Moto X is priced at $526.
