"Mr. Robot" season 2 is only a couple of months away, and fans understandably are getting more edgy with anticipation as the new season's premiere episode draws near. The first season of the critically-acclaimed drama ended last year with an explosive — though not entirely surprising — twist, leaving just enough possibilities and mysteries to explore in the upcoming season.

Sam Esmail's hit drama-thriller TV series is not likely to disappoint in its new season, as shown in the recently released "Mr. Robot" season 2 official trailer by USA Network.

The trailer shows Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) as he struggles to recall the events that transpired during the fsociety hack. He still looks clueless and confused as to what happened during the three days that he blacked out.

Meanwhile, the hack on Evil Corp clearly has had devastating effects on the country, and fans are given more peeks at the fallout of the event. President Obama is shown delivering a speech addressing the hack, saying something of this scale has never happened in the past. He also identifies Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallstrom) and the underground group fsociety as the ones responsible for the attacks.

The trailer shows Elliot's sister Darlene (Carly Chaikin) being more passionate with the revolution and fsociety's work, urging the team to continue what they're doing. She says people need to know that they as a team haven't given up and that they meant what they said about "changing the world."

On the other hand, little has been shown about Tyrell and his wife Joanna (Stephanie Corneliussen) in the trailer. Yet fans don't need to worry as Esmail has stated that "Mr. Robot" season 2 will give viewers a broader sense of the plans of the cunning couple, according to Slash Film.

Now that Elliot has realized he's actually seeing delusions and that Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) is a persona of his father, viewers can expect to see more of his mental and psychological struggles. The creator of the acclaimed drama said earlier this year that "Mr. Robot" season 2 will highlight Elliot's emotional journey.

"I really wanted to focus on that and make it less about the plot," Esmail told TVLine. "For me, the headline for Season 2 is, 'How do these two guys [Elliot and Mr. Robot] reconcile? How does Elliot reconcile with the fact that he's been seeing a delusion, a fantasy?'"

The premiere episode of "Mr. Robot" season 2 will air on July 13 on USA Network.
