'Narcos' Season 3 air date, spoilers news: Next season to focus on Cali Cartel; Season 3 set for August 2017 release?

The second season of "Narcos" has been aired, and the fans saw how the fearsome and powerful man in the world of drug syndicates was brought down to his knees. The main protagonist of the first of second season, Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura), was defeated and killed. 

However, Escobar's death is not necessarily a huge blow to the illegal drug trade in the country. If anything, his death would allow the rise of another drug cartel, and perhaps even surpass Escobar's achievements in the underground society.

"Narcos" does not end with Escobar's death, and it is expected to live on for the third and fourth seasons. This time around, the Cali Cartel will be the main focus of the story, and a new lead character will be on the rise. According to Parent Herald, actor Damian Alcazar will be playing the character of Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela in "Narcos" Season 3, which will be the new protagonist of the series replacing Escobar.

Orejuela was already seen in the latest teaser for the upcoming third season. News Everyday reported a teaser video posted in "Narcos" Official Facebook page, where the singer Paquita la del Barrio is shown performing in a hub full of drug lords. However, she expressed her disgust to them by the vulgarity of the words in her song, mostly pertaining to Pablo Escobar. She managed to drive away the people inside the hub, until del Barrio was taken aback by the sudden appearance of Orejuela.

Game N Guide reported that the fall of Escobar's Medellin Cartel will benefit the Cali Cartel. Cali's four godfathers, Gilberto, Miguel, Pacho Herrera and Chepe, were all introduced in Season 2, but their syndicate was not able to do well with Escobar still hanging around and standing on their way. While the new season with the Cali Cartel might be the same with the previous ones, the Inquisitr reported that the story will be more political in tackling the effects of illegal drug operations in the society.

"Narcos" Season 3 will premiere next year, but there is still no confirmed exact date of its release. Considering the release date of the past seasons of "Narcos" on Netflix, it is possible that Season 3 will be out around August 2017.
