'Naruto Shippuden' spoilers news: Divine Tree's secret revealed, Kaguya's 'god complex' begins to manifest

The latest episode of "Naruto Shippuden" tells the life of the young Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo, together with his twin brother Hamura. In the earlier episode, Otsutsuki Kaguya became pregnant with Lord Tenjin, the emperor of Land of Sou, but out of her disgust with the constant warmongering of humans, she ate the fruit of the Divine Tree and activated the Infinite Tsukuyomi for the first time upon the world. This made all humans in the land, including Tenjin, to be bound to the Divine Tree as they enter a never-ending dream.

Eons later, Kaguya was seen ruling over the humans who survived the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Together with her sons Hagoromo and Hamura, she maintained peace and order among humans. However, Kaguya's sons were visited by an unlikely creature to warn them about the dreaded future with the Divine Tree.

It was revealed that Gamamura, the Sage Toad who first prophesized Naruto as the savior of the Shinobi world, has lived for a very long time that he predated the arrival of Kaguya on Earth. He revealed to Hagoromo and Hamura that the Divine Tree is draining nature's energy from the world that would eventually cause the lands to wither. Gamamura also dared Hagoromo to know the truth behind Kaguya by entering the forbidden premises of the Divine Tree.

Upon reaching the Divine Tree, Hagoromo and Hamura learned that all those who were sacrificed in the Divine Tree ritual are "dead." They are encased in a cocoon as they are bound to the roots of the Divine Tree. One of the persons who were sacrificed was Haori, a woman who Hagoromo was fond of. Due to his anger, Hagoromo awakened the Sharingan for the first time. This further supported the theory that those who acquired the Rinnegan had developed the Sharingan first.

The episode also shows Hagoromo learning the Sage Style in a matter of seconds. Gamamura also revealed that an intense fight is inevitable as Hagoromo and Hamura would eventually have to fight their own mother someday. Hagoromo mastering the Sage mode will be a big help in order to win the battle, although Gamamura also noted that Kaguya's power is "immense."

In the next Episode 462 titled "I Created the Past," the huge battle will happen between the brothers and their mother as Kaguya will be angered by his sons' betrayal. Yibada also noted that Kaguya will be upset with Hagoromo developing a new dojutsu (eye technique), as she believes that all power in the world should be hers alone. This supports the statement by the Sage of Six Paths earlier in the series that her mother developed a "god complex" that made her a fearsome demon rather than a kind goddess.
