'Nashville' season 5 air date, news, spoilers: First image of Juliette after plane crash revealed; Connie Britton speaks out on her rumored exit
Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) certainly didn't make it out of the plane crash uninjured on "Nashville" season 5.
Entertainment Weekly recently revealed a new photo from the upcoming premiere of "Nashville," showing a bloody Juliette lying on the ground unconscious. The on-set photo shows what happened to Juliette after her ill-fated flight in season 4. Although it was already revealed that she survives, it remains to be seen how the plane crash will change her as the story moves forward.
The country music drama's fourth season left off with a major cliffhanger when Juliette's plane went missing. A new trailer that was released on Thursday finally confirmed that after Juliette's plane crashed in a field, she was found unconscious by a stranger. The fictional pop diva miraculously became the sole survivor of the crash, but she struggled to move the lower part of her body. Now bound to a wheelchair, Juliette faces a huge challenge as she finds a purpose and starts over after her life-changing injury.
The show is now dealing with a smaller ensemble now that series regulars Aubrey Peeples and Will Chase are not returning full-time. Rumor has it that Connie Britton will exit this season, but the actress admitted that she's still unsure about her fate in the show.
"I'm not sure, honestly. We're all sort of figuring out what's happening, and right now we're just in it. And I'm really happy to be in that place," she told The New York Times. Britton plays the role of Rayna Jaymes, whose storyline played out like a series of sad country songs because of her complicated family and career life. Although what's next for Rayna is uncertain, Britton mentioned how she would want her character to go out. "Oh my gosh. [Pause.] In a blaze of country music glory!" the actress exclaimed.
The fifth season of "Nashville" premieres on Thursday, Jan. 5, at 9 p.m. ET on CMT.
