In what is shaping up to be a big summer for the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Los Angeles Lakers are considered as one of the two teams realistically given the chance to land Russell Westbrook.

According to Silver Screen and Roll, Westbrook is now the new marquee player on the trading block as the departure of Kevin Durant from the Thunder all but sealed Westbrook's fate as an OKC "lifer."

Only last season, the Thunder were at the Western Conference Finals battling the Golden State Warriors. With Durant and Westbrook, they pushed the Warriors on the brink of elimination with a 3-1 series lead.

However, they lost the lead and eventually got eliminated in the seventh game of the series.

Now, that collapse may have helped Durant decide to leave the Thunder, but his decision has resulted in teams trying to battle for Westbrook's signature.

The star guard's current contract is set to expire next year, but the Thunder are definitely weighing their options.

Initially, many believe that Westbrook is bound for Hollywood when his contract expires, but with the changes in the Thunder, Westbrook may be gone this year.

Talks on the Thunder shopping Westbrook have circulated as Oklahoma City will try to see what value they can get from Westbrook, instead of seeing him walk away without anything in return.

The Boston Celtics have emerged as a real place for Westbrook to play, with the Eastern Conference team boasting assets they can let go of for Westbrook.

However, if Westbrook was to play his last year with the Thunder, he could build up his stock for what could be another big summer of signing.

The Lakers are certainly one of the teams leading the race in signing Westbrook, as it offers the glitz and glamour that Westbrook oozes when off the court, and his tenacity and aggressiveness will make for very entertaining ball in Hollywood.
