NBA Trade rumors 2016: Brandon Knight leaving Phoenix Suns?

One player who has been making rounds on the rumor mill is Phoenix Suns' guard Brandon Knight who happens to be reportedly on the trading block this month.

As December is almost here, it is not only holiday seasons approaching especially for the National Basketball Association (NBA). It is that time of the year when teams get new players and players get new teams to play for.

According to CBS Sports, Knight has been performing less than what is expected from him in Phoenix Suns. His most recent playing stats only average 12.6 points per game with only 38 percent from the field and 31 percent from the three-point line.

The same report emphasized that Knight's stats does not impact the Suns. Without Knight's per game average, the team only has 13.7 points average per 100 ball possessions and it goes even lower when mixed with Knight's stats.

The report maintains that Knight is not generally a poor-performing player. He was actually performing really well during his time with the Milwaukee Bucks. Not to mention, Knight was Los Angeles Lakers' first-round pick when he joined the NBA.

This was supported by a separate report by Valley of the Suns that said Knight is "a redundant figure" to the team. So, maybe given a better playing condition, Knight would be able to unleash his real potential again.

CBS Sports also presented several possible (and favorable) teams for Knight to transfer into. In Orlando Magic, Knight can offer an amazing guard combo with Elfrid Payton, who struggles on the offensive department, and Evan Fournier.

The report also considers New Orleans Pelicans as a better home for Knight in which he can fit in as an effective shooting guard who can also run an offense. Other speculative teams for a possible Knight trade are Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.

However, ESPN noted that Suns general manager Ryan McDonough once told the Burns & Gambo radio show in Phoenix that he is "not actively trying" to trade Knight. The GM also reportedly said that he wants to take at least two more months to evaluate the team before tackling on possible trades.
