NBA trade rumors: George linked to move to OKC and team up with Westbrook
After suffering their first loss of the season, the Oklahoma City Thunder are immediately linked to a big move that could bring them back to their elite status.
According to rumors, the Thunder are looking at Paul George to fill the void and help the Thunder improve for the season.
George is currently with the Indiana Pacers and is considered one of the best players in the league. If there is any truth to this, then the Thunder should be ready to give up a lot of talent in order for the Pacers to at least consider this move.
As for George, if the Pacers continue their rough start to the season, he may be looking for a way out and the Thunder could be the perfect place to start over.
Despite having good players in the team, the Pacers appear to be disjointed as they are only 2-3 so far, placing last in the Central Division.
George has a lot of great team mates like Jeff Teague and Al Jefferson, but they may have not found the right chemistry. This results in poor play from the Pacers.
As for the Thunder, they have exceeded expectations as many believed that they would struggle this season without Kevin Durant.
The Thunder are 4-1 so far this season and have only lost to the Golden State Warriors. In that intense battle, the Thunder's weaknesses were displayed and this can be alleviated if George arrives from the Pacers.
Russell Westbrook is playing incredible basketball but he certainly needs help in different aspects of the game and George should be more than enough to complement him. George is excellent on the ball and off it. He is also talented on the defensive end.
He plays similarly to Westbrook, relying on speed and a relentless attitude to try and finish every play strong. This would potentially help the Thunder rebound and improve as the season goes along.
These are all speculations but if it comes true, then the Thunder are going to bounce back stronger than before.
