'NCIS LA' season 8 spoilers: Miguel Ferrer managed to film more episodes; storyline wrap-up still under discussion
The recent passing of Miguel Ferrer has fans of "NCIS: Los Angeles" heartbroken, but before he succumbed to cancer, the actor apparently managed to film more episodes for the series.
According to Deadline, Ferrer is set to appear in several more episodes of "NCIS: LA" season 8. It is unclear as to how far along he was able to film.
At the moment, his character, NCIS assistant director Owen Granger, is in critical condition after a fatal knife attack by an unknown attacker.
It has been teased in the past that an agent will be dead by the end of the storyline although it is unclear if it is Ferrer's character since there are still discussions among the creators with regard to how they will give Granger a proper send-off.
Ferrer has been part of the crime drama since the third season. His battle with cancer was no secret, but he still continued working on "NCIS: LA" season 8.
He even reprised his role as FBI agent Albert Rosenfield in the upcoming reboot of "Twin Peaks" so fans of the actor will also see him there.
Shortly after news about Ferrer's death broke, the "NCIS: LA" cast and crew and the many people he worked with and his life he touched remembered the 61-year-old actor.
Chris O'Donnell shared on Instagram a photo of him and his co-star, whom he will miss and was honored to call as a friend.
LL Cool J, who plays Sam in "NCIS: LA" season 8, shared a lengthy post remembering the good times he had with Ferrer, even calling him "an amazing man." "We enjoyed a lot of laughs over the years. More jokes than I can count. You brought so many people so much joy. Guess that's why so many people shed tears today. I met your wife and kids a few times and you and I grew to become good friends. I'll miss you man. You inspired me everyday. A true mans man. Love you my brother. I'm glad you smiled and stayed strong until the finish. Sleep well in the arms of the almighty," he wrote.
"NCIS: LA" season 8 will be back on the small screen on Sunday, Jan. 29, with the episode, "Under Siege." It will be the second part of the three-installment mole storyline.
