Sam Hanna's (LL Cool J) first mission for the year will have to be executed on his own when "NCIS: Los Angeles" returns for the second half of season 8.

In the episode titled "Kulinda," Sam will be ordered to go undercover in a privately owned security firm that is constantly linked to a number of criminal organizations. Sam will try to infiltrate the security agency after a Navy reservist died while defending city councilman Tony Hill (Romeo Brown).

However, there are no details yet about how Sam will get inside the corrupted security agency.

Meanwhile, Sam's partner G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell) will have a different problem in the upcoming episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8. According to the synopsis posted by The Futon Critic, Callen will have a very serious talk with his new girlfriend, Anna Kolcheck (Bar Paly), regarding their relationship.

The two finally decided to take their relationship seriously, but Callen has yet to tell all his friends about it. It may not be hard for Callen to introduce Anna to them, since they already worked her in their past missions. But how will the rest of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) team react if they find out that Callen and Anna are already a couple?

The full synopsis for the episode reads: "After a Navy reservist is killed while protecting a city councilman, Sam is sent undercover in a private security firm with links to several criminal organizations. Also, Callen and Anna discuss the next steps in their relationship."

The episode is slated to return to CBS on Sunday, Jan. 8.

Meanwhile, other reports claim that the upcoming episode will feature the return of operational psychologist Nate Getz (Peter Cambor). The character was last seen in season 7 in the episode titled "Head of the Snake." Yet the circumstances about his return is still being kept under wraps.
