'NCIS' season 14, episode 10 spoilers: Ducky goes on a trip down memory lane to re-evaluate a life-altering decision
"NCIS" is setting up a midseason finale spectacle with a murder linking back to Ducky's mother.
Tonight's installment of the police procedural will have the Naval detectives finding an evidence in a murder of a Navy Captain that would be pointing to Ducky's mother as a potential partaker in the crime. The episode titled "The Tie that Binds" will see Gibbs and his tea, trying to crack down a case when a surprising evidence emerges. The interesting part in the plot twist, however, is the fact that Ducky's mom is already dead, which means that a game of trial and error will ensue for them to get their facts straight.
In light of the case, it seems like Ducky is not necessarily unaware of the situation or the implications of it as spoilers suggest that he would also need to go on a trip down memory lane that will divulge a decision he made 37 years ago. Whether that is a direct tie-up to the whole mystery or not remains to be a mystery.
The narrative allows "NCIS" to take a different kind of treatment to the fall finale with a young Ducky played once again by guest star Adam Campbell, appearing in the outing. This makes up for a more engaging storytelling compared to just a normal referencing or even a just narrating the incident that may hinge everything together.
On a lighter note, Gibbs's (Mark Harmon) roommate, T.C. Fornell (guest star Joe Spano) gets a shocking wake-up call from his daughter, Emily (Juliette Angelo), after she finds out that her father is crashing on someone else's couch. In a promo clip courtesy of TVLine, the sequence shows the three of them in Gibbs's living space until he needs to leave for work and leave the two on their own.
Elsewhere in the episode, fans can expect some gift-giving in the episode with the team celebrating Christmas early.
"NCIS" season 14 airs every Tuesday, 8 p.m., ET on CBS.
