'NCIS' season 14 episode 15 spoilers, news: Two-part special bring Gibbs and his team to New Orleans; ratings of title's viewership fluctuates
The team of Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) will be dealing with a stolen terrorist playbook that will lead them to team up with Pride (Scott Bakula) and his NCIS group in New Orleans. Meanwhile, the "NCIS" has fluctuating ratings that might not be good for the show.
In the upcoming 15th episode of "NCIS" season 14 titled "Pandora's Box Part I," Abby's (Pauley Perrette) security operations room will be infiltrated, leading the NCIS team to discover that a terrorist playbook has been stolen.
The synopsis for the upcoming episode says, "After Abby's homeland security think tank is compromised and she is found in possession of a real bomb, the NCIS team discovers the leader of the group has been murdered and a theoretical terror playbook has been stolen."
The episode is tied to a two-part crossover event with "NCIS: New Orleans" season 3, where "NCIS agents McGee (Sean Murray) and Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) will travel to New Orleans to partner with Pride and his team in the search for a missing homeland security theoretical terror playbook" in "Pandora's Box Part II."
Meanwhile, there have been speculations that "NCIS" will soon be axed because of its recent drop in ratings due to one of the pivotal characters' exit from the show — Senior Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo portrayed by Michael Weatherly.
According to Cinema Blend, "NCIS" has had its ratings fluctuate due to a loss of viewers, but it still has a fighting chance of getting renewed for a 15th season. However, it is important to note that one of its recent episodes earned one of the lowest ratings in the show's history. Coincidentally, even the spin-off series "NCIS: New Orleans" has not been performing well in terms of ratings.
The upcoming two-hour crossover from the series might help pull their ratings up since it will possibly combine the viewers that follow either one.
Episode 15 of "NCIS" season 14, titled "Pandora's Box Part 1," premieres on Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS. "Pandora's Box Part II" of "NCIS: New Orleans" season 3 airs later in the same evening.
