There's something valuable hidden in McGee's (Sean Murray) apartment, which causes the agent to cross paths with the criminals looking for the item. Meanwhile, Gibbs might be getting a new job.

On the next episode of "NCIS" season 14 titled "What Lies Above," McGee will have his apartment as a crime scene because of something valuable that was hidden there by the previous tenant.

"McGee discovers his apartment has been torn apart by a robber trying to locate an item of great value hidden somewhere by the convicted criminal who previously owned the unit. Also, Congresswoman Flemming (Mary Stuart Masterson) tries to persuade Director Vance (Rocky Carroll) to pursue a career in politics," the synopsis posted on The Futon Critic reads.

Meanwhile, Gibbs might be getting a new position, leaving the NCIS team for a higher role.

In the previous episode of "NCIS" season 14, Congresswoman Flemming hinted to Gibbs that it might be time for him to take on the big chair. During an interview with TVLine, Emily Wickersham, who portrays Ellie Bishop, shared that even the cast members are unsure where the congresswoman's hints are going.

The actress noted that although Flemming's scene was small, it was a "big drop" for everyone. She also said that everything has the possibility of changing because that's how "NCIS" goes.

Although, Wickersham's character might not be taking Gibb's exit from the team lightly as she also mentioned how Ellie shares a unique relationship with Gibbs. "Bishops and Gibbs have such an interesting relationship, because he really believes in her, and to her, he is the ultimate mentor," Wickersham explained.

She needs Gibbs' support, especially now that Bishop will have to face the consequences of going rogue for killing the person responsible for killing Qasim (Rafi Silver).

"The thing is that Gibbs would have done the same thing. ... So I'm sure it will weigh on her internally, emotionally and all that," Wickersham said.

"NCIS" season 14 airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
