'NCIS' season 14, episode 9 spoilers: The team is back to help a harassed politician; Pauley Perrette talks about her own traumatic experience
The squad of special detectives from the Washington Navy Yard is back tonight with a case involving a political mess in all new "NCIS."
After hitting a mini hiatus that lasted a week, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the rest of his team delve into a particularly sensitive case as it concerns the safety of a state person. As it turns out congresswoman Jenna Fleming (guest star Mary Stuart Masterson) continues to receive threats that may not just be all talk. In order to look closely into this particularly tricky situation, Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) steps in and assembles a special envoy that will tail the politician while the danger is ruled out. What is interesting here is the angle that the "NCIS" is dabbling on the matter. Rumor has it that a personal tie in with Vance to the case might be the link that connects the overall arc for the upcoming episode.
A promotional clip for the installment titled "Pay to Play" shows Gibbs alongside Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) scouting the perpetrator's den which looks like a science laboratory complete with experimental rodents.
Meanwhile, roughly a year after "NCIS" mainstay Pauley Perrette became the subject of a freak attack, she opens up about the terrifying experience. Exclusively talking to Entertainment Tonight Online says, "I'm doing all right. It was a really bizarre thing. The anniversary of it was a strange day, and it was like I got attacked and almost lost my life, and when I finally fell asleep, I woke up, and the Paris attacks were happening."
It can be remembered that November of 2015 when the actress who plays Forensic Specialist Abby Sciuto in the CBS police procedural was harassed by a homeless man in a life threatening blitz attack.
"Anyone that experiences any kind of trauma, it remains with you for the rest of your life. It definitely has," she furthered. "I'll always help."
"NCIS" season 14 airs every Tuesday, 8 p.m. ET.
