'NCIS' season 14 spoilers news: Tony and Ziva's daughter Tali to carry forward the former agents' story?
"NCIS" was renewed for its season 14 which is waiting to premiere later this year. The introduction of Tali, Ziva David's (Cote de Pablo) daughter to Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), in the finale episode of the most recently concluded season 13 yielded a path to a plotline which might continue narrating the story of Ziva and Tony despite their permanent absence from the police procedural series. Tali who survived the attack of the farmhouse of Ziva's family will make an interesting catalyst for this story arc.
Tali's likely appearance in the future episodes of "NCIS" will not keep Tony and Ziva entirely out of the bigger picture of the show. Her existence and presence will probably guarantee to bring forth clarification with regard to what will happen to Weatherly's character and closure to the supposed death of de Pablo's character. After all, Tony may be a no-show in the series but the character must be out there in the fictional "NCIS" world wishing for justice to be served and for the apprehension of the perpetrators. Moreover, so far there is no evidence that Ziva is actually dead.
To recap, "NCIS" season 13 final episode titled "Family First" witnessed Tony's encounter with the surprise of his life when Tali was brought in and presented to him as the daughter he never knew existed. During a scene wherein he was interacting with his newfound child, Tony pulled out a picture of him and Ziva. Tali pointed to the picture and uttered the words "ima" which means "mother" and "aba" which means "father." Tony then realized that Ziva must have spoken of him with their daughter because it turned out that Tali recognized him.
Meanwhile, with season 14 episodes in the pipeline of production, "NCIS" showrunner Gary Glasberg said that he is "super eager to reset, to move on and move forward ... and get back to the lightness and the mystery that NCIS is known for."
Fans will have to wait for a couple of more months to find out if the storyline involving Tali will play out or which new agents will be seen regularly on "NCIS" when the crime series returns on CBS.
