New James Bond Movie 'Spectre' Plot News: Daniel Craig Injured Again; Movie Reveals Bond's Childhood
Actor Daniel Craig has reportedly been injured again during the filming of "Spectre," the upcoming James Bond film.
The James Bond actor was injured while filming a high-speed chase through the streets of Rome. The silver Aston Martin DB10 driven by Craig hit a pothole on the road and Craig hit his head in the interior of the car. Craig was immediately checked by a doctor after the incident and was back filming the next day.
This was the second time that Craig had been injured while filming the new Bond movie. The first was in early February when Craig injured his knee during a fight scene. Although producers panicked initially because of the tight shooting schedule, the film resumed shooting a few days later.
"Spectre," the follow-up film after "Skyfall," will dwell on James Bond's childhood. Sam Mendes, Spectre's director told The Guardian, that in the movie Bond "is on the hunt, on the trail, of somebody."
Mendes elaborated: "You don't know why, you don't know what he's doing there. That sense that something is up is also tied to a second part of a crucial story of Bond's childhood. So once that was clear that those huge things were on the table, I felt like I had to do it."
"Spectre," the 24th James Bond movie, will feature Franz Oberhauser as the antagonist (played by Christoph Waltz), Monica Bellucci, Dave Bautista, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes and Lea Seydoux.
It is refreshing to note that in this film, James Bond will have a 50-year-old leading lady in the person of Monica Belluci. Although she auditioned to become a Bond Girl in 1997 in "Tomorrow Never Dies," she lost the part to Teri Hatcher.
Bellucci will debut as Lucia Sciarra in "Spectre." She has been quoted as saying that her sex appeal will provide great chemistry alongside the perfect gentleman, Craig, who at 46, is younger that her. Bellucci will not be alone though. Harris and Seydoux will also be featured as Bond girls in this film.
"Spectre" is set for release on Oct. 23 in the U.K. and Nov. 6 in the U.S.
