"Black Panther," "Captain Marvel," "Doctor Strange" and "Inhumans" are just some of the new characters that will join Marvel's "cinematic universe" in the company's upcoming films.

During a recent Hollywood event, Marvel announced the titles and release dates of its superhero films from 2015 up to 2019.

"When we have information we want to reveal, we reveal it. Sometimes that's in a press release, sometimes that's in San Diego Comic-Con — if everything comes together well — and sometimes that's on a random Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the morning," Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios chief, said.

During the same event, it was also announced that Chadwick Boseman ("Get On Up") will be playing the role of Black Panther, the first Marvel movie to feature an African-American in the title role.

Boseman said he is blessed to be part of the Marvel universe and that he is looking forward to "making magic together" with other Marvel superheroes.

Feige confirmed that Boseman's character will be making his appearance in "Civil War," which will pit Captain America against Iron Man.

Feige also answered questions as to why characters such as The Hulk and Black Widow are not given much focus in Marvel films. He said their focus is on "bringing new characters to the screen."

Here is the complete list of upcoming Marvel films:
