New York Knicks trade rumors: Knicks eyeing Davis from the Pelicans
Before the season began, there were a few people who considered the New York Knicks as a possible super team given the talent they have in their starting lineup.
Unfortunately, that hasn't translated to dominance and so far they are in the middle of the pack with a 2-3 record. Despite having big names in the lineup, they are still stuck with a few trade rumors and this involves their power forward.
According to rumors, the Knicks might be considering a move that would send Kristaps Porzingis to the Western Conference with a possible trade with the New Orleans Pelicans. The player the Knicks want is All-Star Anthony Davis.
This is a big deal if there is any truth to the rumor as this would definitely help the Knicks improve significantly with their talents. Porzingis is no slouch as he currently averages 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in the new season while also offering a wide range of talents as he moves without the ball.
However, if the Knicks have a sliver of hope to land Davis for Porzingis then they probably should as Davis is one of the best players at the moment.
In his first five games of the season, Davis is averaging 31.6 points and 12 rebounds per game. Those are insane numbers as he has to extend himself to keep the Pelicans competitive.
Unfortunately, it has not translated to results. The Pelicans are still winless as of writing time. Davis is likely to be very frustrated with how things are going in New Orleans so much so that he might actually entertain a trade elsewhere if it were to help him with his chances at the playoffs and for a championship.
With that in mind, the Knicks should try and work a way that the Pelicans will have to agree to send a disgruntled star elsewhere. This will definitely help New Orleans try and regroup and redevelop with some pieces in tow and young stars ready to shine.
