New York Knicks trade rumors: Knicks looking to make a move for McLemore

Already with a solid starting lineup for the coming season, the New York Knicks are reportedly still trying to get new players to help them be relevant in the Eastern Conference.

According to reports, the Knicks are now trying to get capable players who can come off the bench and the Sacramento Kings' Ben McLemore may be a target for the team from the Big Apple.

Trying to add depth to the squad, the starting spot in the shooting guard position is assumed to be owned by Courtney Lee, with Justin Holiday as his back-up.

The report claims that the Knicks top brass believes that McLemore has the higher ceiling between the two and has shown glimpses of what he can offer to the Knicks while playing for the Kings.

Now entering his fourth year in the league, McLemore enjoyed impressive career numbers in his sophomore season where he averaged 12.1 points while playing around 33 minutes per game.

Last year, however, he averaged his lowest for his career at only 7.8 points per game and played only around 21 minutes per night which is also the lowest in his short career.

Appearing to fall out of favor in the Kings locker room, McLemore may have a fresh start with the Knicks as he provides great energy and offense when given playing time. He should be a logical pick-up if the Knicks decide to do so.

On paper, he also looks to make more of an impact than Holiday as Holiday has not found a stable home in the league since arriving in the 2012-13 season.

Furthermore, he only averages 4.4 points per game in a limited amount of minutes.

Last year, Holiday started the season with the Atlanta Hawks but finished the year with the Chicago Bulls. Now he finds himself a Knick as he was part of the trade that saw Derrick Rose move to the Big Apple when the team gave up Jose Calderon, Jerian Grant and Robin Lopez.
