'Ni no Kuni 2' release date news update: 'Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom' revealed; storyline revolves on Evan
Players of the classic game "Ni no Kuni" can now rejoice over the fact that "Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom" will soon be released in 2017 for PlayStation 4 (PS4). Sony has already confirmed this at the PlayStation Experience event that concluded a couple of days ago.
The trailer for "Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom" was shown during the event. To the surprise of many, instead of Studio Ghibli developing the game, Level-5 has taken over. This has got a lot of fans wondering what the game would offer, considering that the former studio was responsible for the hit titles "Spirited Away," My Neighbor Totoro" and "Princess Mononoke."
The story of "Ni no Kuni 2" focuses on the main character, Evan, who must take on an adventure to save the kingdom from dark forces. Being a boy king, he must prove to himself that he deserves the throne. Along with his companion, Roland, a visitor who came from another world, they will defy all odds to fulfill their mission.
Of course, along the way, more characters will get involved. This is seen in the video trailer released.
It was in 2010 when the original title "Ni no Kuni" was released for PS3. The story featured Oliver, who traveled to a world full of magic and monsters following the death of his mother. In the new world, Oliver found himself searching for his soulmate.
The original title received praises from gamers and so a lot of fans expect more from the "Ni no Kuni 2." According to Forbes, it seems that Bandai Namco is determined to release more game installments in the series as the second installment will come out soon.
There is no launch date revealed for "Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom" yet, but it is slated for a 2017 release. More details are expected to be released eventually so be sure to stay tuned.
