It was recently confirmed that the upcoming video game "Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom" will not only arrive to the PlayStation 4, but it will also be coming to PC. All platform versions are set to be launched simultaneously across the globe.

Game publisher Bandai Namco announced the good news at a recent press event in San Francisco this January, during which a gameplay section was shown.

According to a report by Polygon, "Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom" has a slightly different look from its 2013 predecessor, "Ni No Kuni." The first game was heavily influenced by Studio Ghibli, which has provided amazing cut-scene animations. On the other hand, the sequel's "world" looks more realistic than the original. Although less cartoonish, the game sequel still oozes with heavy fantasy elements.

The story of the "Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdon" focuses on Evan, a young king, who was crowned at a tender age after his father's death. However, his subjects thought he was too kind for the position and had him deposed.

Evan finds an ally in Roland, a middle-aged leader from the real world who gets transported into the fantasy realm and morphed into a much younger man. He is crucial in Evan's path as a ruler as he mentors and shows the deposed king what it takes to be a leader.

Other characters are also featured in the game's story. Tani is described as a "tomboy" and an orphan daughter of a pirate. There are also tiny spirit creatures called Higgledies, which adds charm to the story but is also useful in combat.

In a recent interview with GameSpot, Level-5 chief executive Akihiro Hino confirmed the news that the upcoming video game will also have a PC version, mentioning that "having a PC version means the game is more accessible for everyone overseas."

"As a fan of Western RPGs, I think our games need to be offering a similarly great experience, utilizing things like an open world, and a stress-free battle system. It should feel familiar for all gamers," Hino added.

Bandai Namco has yet to announce an official release date for "Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom." However, the game publishing company has confirmed that it will be made available sometime in 2017.
