Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 release date, news: Self-lacing sneakers' release date and price revealed
The very advanced kind of sneakers with self-lacing abilities finally got its release date and price tag.
Since its reveal in the first quarter of the year, the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 caused so much anticipation. Because, why not? Self-lacing sneakers have only been seen in the movies before but the chance to get a pair is reason enough to wait for the footwear.
After months of waiting, early this week, one of the biggest sports clothing company in the world, Nike, has already announced when the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 will be available in the market. A fair warning, though, it comes with a price that requires deep pockets.
Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 will be released in the market on Dec. 1 and will cost a whopping $720 for each pair of sneakers. Footwear News explained that such amount comes after Nike had definitely spent much too in producing a very high-end and technologically advanced pair of sneakers.
On Nike's official announcement, it was confirmed that a "small" group of lucky people who are members of the Nike+ app will get ahead of everyone else and will be given the chance to buy the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 couple of days earlier on Nov. 28.
For anyone who is not as lucky, the much-anticipated self-lacing sneakers with the black/white-blue lagoon colorway will be available on two Nike stores in New York City on the abovementioned date.
If Dec. 1 is still not a good day or the colorway is not working for someone, Nike promised to hold another release later of next month introducing a metallic silver/black/white colorway. However, IB Times clarified that the second schedule of sale will only be through select retailers and Nike+ app.
The same report noted that the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 sports the same technology as the Nike Mag and was styled after Marty McFly from the classic "Back to the Future" film. The sneakers sport pressure sensors that help to adjust the tightness of the laces. There are buttons on either side to adjust or control the lace.
