Following the successful launching of the newly popular mobile game, "Pokemon Go," console maker Nintendo has apparently shifted their focus on the upcoming release of Nintendo NX. According to the latest reports, the new gaming system will be much different from other consoles Nintendo has manufactured. The NX is said to come out region-free. It is definitely different from the previous devices such as Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U, which are limited per region.

According to Let's Play Video Games' Editor Laura Dale, a source has revealed that Nintendo may turn away from the traditional region-locked gaming consoles.

"We also have two separate sources claiming that the current NX development kits are region free, and that those developing software for it have not heard anything about region locking being added before launch," according to Dale's report.

It was previously mentioned by the late CEO Satoru Iwata during an event in 2015 that the company may remove the region lock from their future consoles.

Iwata said that "nothing has been decided yet, we're currently investigating internally what problems there would be in realizing [a region free system]. You can think of that as the current situation. I understand your desire, so I'd like to look at it optimistically going forward."

Although the Japanese gaming company has yet to provide concrete details with regard to their future plans, many believe that Nintendo may decide on releasing the NX region free.

Meanwhile, during an interview with A List, Reggie Fils-Aime, the president of Nintendo America, admits that the company must do a better job of releasing a new console compared to when they rolled out the current Wii U.

"One of the things that we have to do better when we launch the NX—we have to do a better job communicating the positioning for the product," Fils-Aime explained. "We have to do a better job helping people to understand its uniqueness and what that means for the game playing experience."

As of the moment, fans are still waiting for the company to unveil the new console.
