Nintendo NX release date, news, rumors: Nintendo's latest hybrid console to be released before March 2017?
Nintendo announced earlier this year that they are going to release an all-new home console in the coming months. The next big device from the company, called the Nintendo NX, is expected to replace the current Wii U and boast several features that will rival Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro and Microsoft's Xbox One Scorpio. The release of Nintendo NX is tentatively set in March 2017, but according to the latest reports, the gamers might be in for an early surprise.
Contrary to what most of the people expect, the arrival of Nintendo NX may happen earlier than March 2017. This is according to the recent post of a known retailer company in the United Kingdom, Tesco. Their website indicated that a certain "Nintendo NX Wii U" will be put up for sale starting on December 31, 2016. Moreover, the said Nintendo NX device already has a tag price of £349.99 or around $450 USD, although the pricing information was later on removed from the device's description.
While this may sound like a Christmas surprise, there is a chance that the recent details provided by Tesco are just an error. According to Geek, there is still no official information from Nintendo regarding the release of their latest console. There is also a chance that this is just an early pre-order campaign for Nintendo NX, but the actual release of the console to the market will happen sometime in 2017.
Even if Nintendo NX will be released sooner or later into 2017, the long period of waiting might be worth it as the upcoming console is expected to boast a lot of new features and improvements in gaming. According to Express UK, the Nintendo NX may feature the return of cartridges to play a game. Unlike the other consoles today, the NX will be a hybrid device, having both features of a handheld gaming device and a home console.
