Nintendo NX release date, news, specs rumors: Console to feature Chromecast technology to link it to TV?
According to the latest rumors, the upcoming home console from Nintendo will be introducing a special feature not yet present in the new generation consoles. The Japanese electronic entertainment company will do everything to make their biggest console project yet, the Nintendo NX, as a unique gaming gadget.
A recent report from the French game and tech website, Game Blog, revealed that the Nintendo is incorporating a special technology to the Nintendo NX console that is similar with that of Google Chromecast. To note, the Chromecast is a streaming device that allows the users to hook their respective devices directly to the HDMI port of their television set. The Chromecast drive will be able to stream contents directly from a mobile device, or even PC.
If this is true, the Nintendo NX users will be able to play their favorite video games on TV. While this report has not yet been confirmed officially by Nintendo, the Chromecast-like feature can possibly be included in the new Nintendo console as the company wants to veer the NX away from traditional console system. This might be Nintendo's new approach to making the console a step ahead of its potential rivals in the market.
However, Segment Next said that Nintendo should also mind the disadvantages in using Chromecast, including the occasional cutting of connection even though the internet access is going smoothly. Having the same issue with the Nintendo NX will not be helpful, especially that Nintendo targets to get more players to use the device.
Earlier reports depicted the Nintendo NX to be the first hybrid console, being a home-based console and a portable or handheld gaming device at the same time.
According to iTech Post, Nintendo may reveal some important details about the console as early as this month. The company set the target date of release of Nintendo NX in March 2017, although it is possible for Nintendo to give updates regarding the developments of the console before the much-awaited NX launching.
