Nintendo Switch news: 'Mother 3' and 'Mario Kart 8' coming to console, 'Mass Effect Andromeda' isn't
More and more information involving the Nintendo Switch continue to pile up as Nintendo itself remains tight-lipped about its much-awaited next-generation console.
Gaming insider Emily Rogers is back at it again with Nintendo Switch rumors. On Twitter, she said that "Mother 3," originally released in Japan for the Game Boy Advance, will be released for the console.
This means that for the first time since its release in 2006, "Mother 3," the third installment of one of the most beloved video game franchises of all time, will finally be playable outside of Japan, on Nintendo Switch no less. This echoes the claims of video game critic Laura Dale, who said that "Mother 3" will arrive on the Nintendo Switch during the second quarter of the year. She said that it will be announced at the Nintendo Switch event on Jan. 12, making the already hyped-up affair a lot more exciting than it already is.
Rogers also said that "Mario Kart 8" will also be released for the Nintendo Switch and added that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be out by March in North America.
As for the titles that are not coming to the console, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is one of these titles. Producer Mike Gamble revealed to Stevivor that they have no plans to bring its new galactic shooter in the Nintendo Switch "right now."
"We're not planning on it. If the Switch launches and everyone's just yammering for Mass Effect, who knows. We never want to close doors like that," he explained.
From the looks of it, BioWare wants to make sure that the Nintendo Switch will be a hit so as to not repeat the poor sales of "Mass Effect 3" on the Wii U.
Another title not expected to be released in the Nintendo Switch is "Red Dead Redemption 2." This is according to Dale as well.
