Nintendo Switch release date, news: console to be playable at PAX South
Nintendo is bringing its highly anticipated Nintendo Switch console at the PAX South event in San Antonio, Texas this weekend for fans to try.
The game giant is even bringing no less than eight titles set to launch for the device so that players can get a feel of the experience the hybrid console will offer.
Nintendo is definitely bringing the big guns at the gaming convention, which will serve as the first conference ever where the Nintendo Switch will be playable.
The titles that fans will be able to play on the Nintendo Switch during the event include "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," "Splatoon 2" and "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe."
The upcoming party game "1-2-Switch," the fighting game "Arms," "Super Bomberman R," "Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers" and "Snipperclips – Cut it out, together!"
A demonstration of the functions of the Nintendo Switch will also be conducted at PAX South. Attendees should be able to see the device in action both when used as a handheld console and when it is docked.
As the PAX South event happens, the Nintendo Switch will also be playable at an event in Toronto, which is the second stop in a tour being held for the console.
The next destination will be Washington, D.C. (Feb. 10–12), Chicago (Feb. 17–19), San Francisco (Feb. 24–26) and Los Angeles (March 3–5).
The Nintendo Switch will also be playable at the PAX East event in Boston, Massachusetts. However, by that time, the console should have hit the shelves already.
The Nintendo Switch was recently made available for online preorder in Japan. However, the overwhelming traffic caused the company's website to crash.
Unfortunately, the website remains down at the moment, but it looks like many do not mind, thanks to the unique error message Nintendo put up.
The Nintendo Switch will be out March 3 and is priced $299.
