'Ocean's Eight' premiere date, cast news, plot updates: Title to have star-studded cast; lead cast members preparing for sexist comments

The spin-off film to Gary Ross' "Ocean's" trilogy will be lead by eight big Hollywood female actors, and all of them are preparing for sexist comments that will be thrown their way.

Also directed by Ross, "Ocean's Eight" is a spin-off film where the sister of Danny Ocean — played by George Clooney in "Ocean's Eleven" — will be leading a group of female thieves in pulling off a heist at the New York annual Met Gala.

Ocean's sister is Debbie, who will be portrayed by Sandra Bullock, and her team of thieves will be comprised of characters played by Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Rihanna, and Awkwafina.

Aside from the eight big ones, "Ocean's Eight" will be featuring other big celebrities during the Met Gala scene in New York.

According to ET Online, Kim Kardashian was already spotted twice on the set of "Ocean's Eight," wearing a sheer gown with a white fur jacket to play as herself in the film.

Kim, along with her sister Kendall Jenner, will be joined by Olivia Munn, Zayn Malik, Hailey Baldwin, Maria Sharapova, and Katie Holmes at the Met Gala.

Baseline adds that Tennis star player Serena Williams will also be appearing in the film. "Baywatch" star Kelly Rohrbach will also be appearing in "Ocean's Eight," but how they will appear on the film has not yet been revealed.

Although Matt Damon, who starred in the original "Ocean's" trilogy, said that it's exciting to see what the phenomenal cast of "Ocean's Eight" can do, Hathaway shared with Hollywood that they are already preparing for sexist comments that may come their way when the film premieres.

But Hathaway is sure that her co-stars Bullock and Blanchett will be tough to take on.

"Good luck to any person who tries to take on Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett because you're not going to win," Hathaway teased.

"Ocean's Eight" is slated to premiere on June 8, 2018.
