With a completely different lineup this season, many lowered their expectations for the Oklahoma City Thunder, and they have been surprised so far.

The Thunder have only lost once in their first few games, and they are looking to be very competitive as they are led by Russell Westbrook.

However, many are now wondering how long Westbrook can shoulder the team with his tenacity and aggressive style of play. Talks are linking another superstar to possibly team up with Westbrook in OKC.

Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans is rumored to be making his way to Oklahoma City to help Westbrook share the load.

This is a big deal because Davis also plays incredible basketball at the moment and may be considered one of the best players of this generation. Only 23 years old, Davis has incredible numbers as he has averaged 30 points, 11.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in his first six games with the Pelicans.

These are monster figures but it has not translated to wins. The Pelicans are still winless as of writing time.

No matter the herculean effort from Davis, the Pelicans are simply short of talent to get him the victory and try and compete for playoff spots down the line. With that in mind, the potential for the Thunder to become a contender once again may happen if the deal to bring Davis comes to fruition.

Rumors are linking  Anthony Morrow and offensive big man Enes Kanter as possible trade baits by the Thunder to make this deal happen.

It may not be too bad of a deal for the Pelicans as the two would definitely provide versatility and depth in the club. It is only a matter of whether they are willing to give up the best player they have.

There should be more in store in the coming days and a big announcement may be made regarding this deal.
