'Once Upon A Time' Season 4 Spoilers, Plot Rumors: The Charmings Continue to Keep Their Secrets?
Are the Charmings hiding some deep dark secrets? Will Emma be lured to the dark side? These questions will be answered in "Unforgiven," the title of Episode 14 of "Once Upon A Time" Season 4 this Sunday, March 8, on ABC.
Previously, Episode 13 titled "Darkness on the Edge of Town" signalled the start of the second half of Season 4 with Mr. Gold, Ursula and Cruella coming to Storybrooke; Emma and Regina fighting Chernabog; and the Queens of Darkness meeting each other in the past and agreeing to work together to save each other's lives.
In Episode 12 titled "Heroes and Villains," which was the last episode before the season break, Belle used the real Dagger of Kris to prevent Rumplestiltskin or Mr. Gold from killing Hook and at the same time force his to release Emma and Mary Margaret.
Belle further used the dagger to force Gold to flee the town, thereby losing all his magic.
Gold, now powerless, went to New York and visited Ursula at an aquarium where she worked as a fish feeder. He asked if she wanted to work with him to obtain their happy endings. She agreed. He offered the same deal to Maleficent and Cruella De Ville. Gold also hinted at knowing who the real Author was.
In last Sunday's episode, the three dark queens gained access to Storybrooke quite easily and were able to let Gold back in. Cruella and Ursula met Mary Margaret and David. It was revealed that they had met sometime in the past, most probably in the Enchanted Forest, at which time something happened which the Charmings would want to be kept a secret.
Co-creator Adam Horowitz revealed that the "secret" will make people look at the Charmings in a different light and even revisit the original stories with new eyes.
It is further revealed that the heart with the greatest potential for darkness that Chernabog was seeking, was not Regina's, but Emma's.
Executive Producer Edward Kitsis told Variety, "One of the big themes for the second half of the season that we want to deal with is, 'What makes someone a hero and what makes someone a villain?' And what the differences are and what the common ground is."
"Emma has spent a long time in the series being told she's a savior and being told she's a hero, and now she's going to have to face that it's not as black and white as that. I think going into this second half, all of our characters are going to be wrestling with this idea of good and evil, not just in terms of what they're facing as an external threat, but internally and within themselves," Kitsis explained.
Many questions need to be answered, and these of course would be the questions in the viewers' mind as they watch the second half of the show's season. Uppermost in the viewers' mind is the question: What kind of mayhem will the three new wicked queens – Ursula, Cruella and Maleficent – cause in the town of Storybrooke?
