'Once Upon a Time' season 6 episode 11 spoilers: Emma learns about her ability to change her fate
Regina (Lana Parrilla) gets visions of Robin's (Sean Maguire) life without her while Emma (Jennifer Morrison) takes her fate into her own hands on the upcoming midseason premiere of "Once Upon a Time" season 6.
Titled "Tougher Than the Rest," the show's next episode will see Emma and Regina try to go home. According to the official synopsis, the second half of season 2 picks up with Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) still asleep in Storybrooke. Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) and David (Josh Dallas) work together to stop Gideon (Giles Matthey) from reaching out to Emma. Meanwhile, Gideon also meets with Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and Gold (Robert Carlyle), and he makes a surprising confession about where he stayed while he was missing.
Elsewhere, Regina finds it difficult to accept that everyone, including Robin, is better off in the alternate universe where the Evil Queen was no longer around. Emma, on the other hand, crosses paths with a familiar face who helps her and Regina. She also learns that she has the power to change her destiny.
While it's still unclear when Snow and Charming will wake up from their sleep, Goodwin hinted that the way it will happen will be emotional. "The manner by which they are brought out of the sleeping curse is moving," the actress told Entertainment Weekly. "I became emotional every time I read the script and it has nothing really to do with David or me," she added.
The fantasy drama's midseason finale revealed that Gideon was actually the person under the hood who may be the one who kills Emma. Showrunner Eddy Kitsis previously spoke with TV Guide, and he teased how the new revelation will affect everyone.
"It's going to cause tension between all of them. What we sometimes forget is that Gold is actually Henry's grandpa, and they're all weirdly tied together," he explained. "I think that you have Rumple and Belle looking out for their child, and you're going to have the Charmings looking out for Emma. I would say the family is going to be divided," he went on to say.
The sixth season of "Once Upon a Time" officially returns on Sunday, March 5, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
