'Once Upon a Time' season 6 spoilers: character return, Regina's heart and more teased by creators

"Once Upon a Time" season 6 returns next year with another familiar face — August Booth better known as Pinocchio, who was last seen in the fourth season of the series.

Eion Bailey will reprise his role in the latter half of the season. In fact, Pinocchio might play a crucial role in getting Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Regina (Lana Parilla) to safety seeing the predicament they were in during the final minutes of the "Once Upon a Time" season 6 midseason finale.

Speaking to TVLine, series co-creator Eddy Kitsis teased that Emma will be forced to team up with the person who killed the king and queen.

"So everyone — including their own son — is looking for them," Kitsis went on to say about their situation in "Once Upon a Time" season 6.

On how Pinocchio will enter the picture, co-creator Adam Horowitz revealed that he will appear in multiple worlds and realms. Kitsis then gushed about Bailey and his character and is excited to bring him back.

"Part of the fun of being in season 6 is we've met so many characters in the 120-plus episodes we've done. It's always fun to bring them back," he said.

Meanwhile, the show creators also answered more questions sent by fans via Entertainment Weekly. One of which is how Regina's heart remains black despite the Evil Queen (Parilla), the representation of everything evil in her, already a separate entity.

"We're actually going to fully get into what we've posed, which is can you separate the good from the bad, the dark from the light, or is it something that's inside us that we have to live with and deal with?" Kitsis mused.

"The condition of Regina's heart becomes very important," Horowitz then went on to say. They also teased that "Once Upon a Time" season 6 will show how the Evil Queen feels for Robin Hood (Sean Maguire).
