'Once Upon a Time' season 6 spoilers: Evil Queen 'pulled apart' for in-depth look at her character

The Land of Untold Stories will be figuring largely in the upcoming "Once Upon a Time" season 6. The place was introduced back in the show's previous season, in the episode entitled "Only You." It is a world of inexhaustible lands, stories, and characters from which the new season can draw new ideas.

The purpose for the focus on the Land of Untold Stories next season was explained by Adam Horowitz, the show's executive producer, in his interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Horowitz said that the new characters as well as the new stories drawn forth from this land reflect the innermost thoughts and feelings of the characters on the show. As an example, he points out Queen Regina (Lana Parilla), who is also known as the Evil Witch/Regina Mills.

"We're literally going inside her and pulling her apart," Horowitz said. "There are elements of that that we're planning to do for each and every one of the characters."

The first episode of the sixth season for "Once Upon a Time" is titled "The Savior" and was written by Horowitz and Edward Kitsis. Parilla will be joined by other cast members -- Ginnifer Goodwin portraying Mary Margaret Blanchard/Snow White, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Emilie de Ravin as Belle French, and Rebecca Mader as Zelena.

Also returning are Colin O'Donoghue, Jared Gilmore and Robert Carlyle in their roles as Captain Hook, Henry Mills, and Mr. Gold, respectively. Starring as well in the episode, "The Savior," are Hank Harris as Dr. Jekyll and Sam Witwer as Mr. Hyde.

"Once Upon a Time" season 6 will pick up the story where season 5 left off, with a confrontation happening between Hyde and Mills in Storybrooke.

"What the Untold Stories characters are, what their whole deal is, is something we'll explore," according to Horowitz.

It seems like a lot of exciting things are in store for fans and viewers of the fantasy series, with trouble being seen on the horizon for Snow White, Swan, and Mills. "Once Upon a Time" season 6 will debut on ABC on Sept. 25.
