'Once Upon a Time' season 6 spoilers, updates: Belle's backstory visited; Evil Queen has her eyes set on Storybrooke?
The season 5 finale of "Once Upon a Time" left several loose ends hanging, and fans are hoping these would be tied come season 6. One of the loose ends viewers are counting on seeing resolved is Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and Rumplestiltskin's (Robert Carlyle) future.
To recap, season 5 ended with a pregnant Belle trapped in Pandora's Box under a sleeping curse. However, showrunners Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis gave the assurance that Belle would come out of the box safe and sound as she reenters Storybrooke.
"As soon as the premiere episode, we'll be digging into Belle's story," Zap2it quoted Horowitz as saying during the San Diego Comic-Con. "She won't be trapped for long."
"You learn a lot about Belle and her family in the process," de Ravin teased.
It remains to be seen in what capacity Belle's backstory would be visited. Those who have watched the series from day one was given a mere peek of Belle's mother who tragically died due to an ogre attack. Her father, on the other hand, doesn't figure much into her life. Hence, the "digging into Belle's story" is something worth anticipating.
Fans should also stay tuned to see what happens to her relationship with Rumple. Fans are hoping they would be able to save their relationship before their child comes out. Nevertheless, this is as good as an indication that fans have not seen the last of "Rumbelle." Belle and Rumple would be back and still be very much a part of "Once Upon a Time" season 6.
Meanwhile, now that Regina Mills and the Evil Queen (both played by Lana Parrilla) are separated, it looks like the latter would be in a no-holds-barred mission to wreak havoc in Storybrooke. She no longer has Regina's morality holding her back from enacting her evil schemes, so now, the Evil Queen would be doing things on her own.
"She's going after everybody. She's taking no prisoners," Josh Dallas, who plays Charming on the series, told Entertainment Weekly. "She's really doing some mental manipulation with everybody, and it's going to turn everybody inside of themselves. They're going to have a lot internally to deal with."
"Once Upon a Time" season 6 returns Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
