"Once Upon a Time" has been beefing up its roster of cast members during the season break. When it comes back on air for its sixth season, there will be many new faces joining the characters fans have all come to love (and hate).

Among the new characters for "Once Upon a Time" season 6 are Morpheus (Giles Matthey), Princess Jasmine (Karen David), Jafar (Oded Fehr), Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz) and the Count of Monte Cristo (Craig Horner). However, another character was added to the growing list last week.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Faran Tahir has been cast to play the famed Captain Nemo, the hardened leader of the Nautilus submarine from "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea." Apparently, Captain Nemo's mythology will merge with Storybrooke's resident captain, Hook (Colin O'Donoghue).

Back in July, during the San Diego Comic-Con, executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis teased that season 6 may introduce Hook's mother and that surprising secrets from his past may be uncovered. There's a possibility that Captain Nemo's entry will have something to do with that, even as his addition coincides with the introduction of the Land of Untold Stories.

It will be recalled that the Land of Untold Stories was introduced to "Once Upon a Time" just before season 5 ended. Fans are clueless as to what this will bring to the table and how extensive it might go. Speaking to TV Line, Kitsis teased the extent of this new land.

"It is a story that has yet to play out," he said regarding the Land of Untold Stories. "You're going to see that a lot of people went to the Land of Untold Stories because they wanted to literally push 'pause,' like they were watching their own life on TiVo."

It appears the Land of Untold Stories will be that place where the stories of characters who haven't reached their happy endings yet will be explored.

"This is a tweak on that idea," Horowitz said. "What happens to some of these stories if they don't quite finish the way we thought they did and were suspended midstream? And what would make characters want to suspend their stories?"

For the Land of Untold Stories, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) will once again don her Savior's hat as she tries to "help people find their happiness."

"Once Upon a Time" season 6 premieres Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
