One M9 vs Galaxy Note 4 Comparison: HTC Phone Has Better Specs but Less Features

The One M9 is the latest smartphone from HTC. Here is how it compares with the bigger Galaxy Note 4 phablet from Samsung.

Design

The One M9 is fashioned from premium materials and comes with a hand-polished aluminum unibody and beautifully curved edges. As for colors, it has a pretty gold/ silver combination, pink, amber gold and gun metal grey. Coming to the Note 4, the latter has a faux leather back panel which is actually made from plastic wrapped around a metal frame. It is also bigger than its competitor and comes with an S Pen Stylus, which is much more accurate when it comes to typing messages or drawing on the screen. In terms of colors, it comes in white, black, gold and pink.

Display

The display on the Note 4 is bigger and is of better quality, all thanks to its super AMOLED screen measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 515 pixels per inch. Compared to this, the One M9 has a super LCD3 screen measuring 5.0 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 441 pixels per inch.

Specs

The specs on the One M9 are miles ahead as it was released recently. It has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz and an Adreno 430 GPU. The Note 4 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, along with a Krait 450 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU.

Memory

Both devices have memory slots and each can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. As for RAM, they both have 3 GB on board.

Camera

The Note 4 has a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization while the One M9 has a 20-megapixel camera at its rear.

Price

The HTC One M9 costs $199 with a two-year contract while the Galaxy Note 4 costs $299 with a similar contract.
