'One Piece' chapter 844 spoilers: Sanji and Luffy engage in epic fight; Reiju secretly aligns with Straw Hat
The Japanese manga series "One Piece" is back this week with a new chapter and a turn of events that could potentially lead to an intense battle between former allies.
In chapter 843 titled "Vinsmoke Sanji," Luffy and Nami finally managed to catch up to Sanji, with the Straw Hat captain excitedly prattling about how they've all come to take Sanji home while he hung from the Vinsmokes' carriage. To their surprise, Sanji kicked Luffy off and began acting in an uncharacteristically rude way. He was a prince of the Germa Kingdom and had no more time for the trivialities of being a pirate.
The look that the angered Luffy and the smug Sanji gave each other could very well lead to a fiery match between the two of them, where Sanji will keep insisting on his lies, while Luffy tries to beat some sense back into him. Another possible scenario could be that Luffy chooses to leave out of respect for Sanji's decision to stay on the island and live out the rest of his life as an affluent married man.
A source speculated that the fight could ensue and that Reiju may choose to take on Nami in order to secretly pass on the truth behind Sanji's sudden change of attitude towards his crew. Reiju could reveal the threats on Zeref and the Straw Hats' lives if Sanji refuses to marry Pudding.
This seems rather similar to what happened with Robin in the Water 7 Arc, where the Straw Hats were fooled into believing that Robin betrayed them, but eventually rallied to take her back into the crew when they found out the truth.
Meanwhile, another source suggested that the Vinsmoke family will end up helping Sanji escape the island when Big Mom threatens their lives after Sanji refuses to marry her daughter. Another theory said that the Vinsmokes may pull something like this off for the sole purpose of upsetting Big Mom and inciting a war between Whole Cake Island and the Germa Kingdom.
"One Piece" is serialized on the "Weekly Shounen Jump."
