'One Punch Man' season 2 air date, plot rumors: Saitama to turn from superhero to supervillain?
The first season of the anime "One Punch Man" was a surprising and massive success, and with its conclusion comes the loud clamoring from the show's fans for a second season.
Although "One Punch Man" season 2 has been confirmed, there is no official announcement issued regarding its targeted release date. However, it was previously reported that it is very likely that Saitama and the rest of the Heroes Association will be making a comeback in October 2017.
As for the possible plot of "One Punch Man" season 2, there are speculations that Saitama will become much weaker compared to his almost-invincible strength in season 1. The superhero may even lose his power. Paired up with the rumor that his bitter enemy Lord Boros will be coming back for the show's second season, fans are worried that their favorite bald superhero will face serious trouble and may finally lose a battle.
Speculations also suggest that the bald, Class B hero will be battling with the likes of Garou and Amai Mask in the coming installment of the anime series. There is also a rumor circulating that Saitama will be switching roles, degenerating from a superhero to a supervillain.
Significant interest is also growing concerning the S-Class Rank 12 hero Watchdog Man, with some fans believing that he is as strong (if not stronger) than Saitama. Saitama and Watchdog Man share very similar qualities such as their immense raw physical strength, extreme speed and lack of any special technique. Hence, it may be interesting to watch the two battle it out in season 2.
Despite the eager anticipation from the fans of "One Punch Man," Madhouse and remake creator Yusuke Murata have remained quiet about any development concerning the making of season 2 and its possible release date. For now, fans can only hold on to the hope that the anime's second season will air at around October 2017.
