'One Punch Man' season 2 air date, spoilers news: Upcoming season to usher in Garou and the Monster Association?

The higher the stakes get the more chance a superhero has to shine. Not that "One Punch Man's" main guy, Saitama, cares about fame more than he does about facing off with an opponent who can withstand his deadly first punch.

The first season brought Saitama face-to-face with Lord Boros, the leader of a group of alien invaders known as the Dark Matter Thieves. Although Lord Boros was able to withstand Saitama's punches long enough to give the bald superhero a good fight, the Dominator of the Universe was ultimately defeated, but not killed like most other villains unfortunate enough to acquaint themselves with Saitama's fist.

This has led fans to speculate that Lord Boros may be back for a rematch when "One Punch Man" season 2 rolls around. This time, he may just be strong enough to drain Saitama's strength and give the Caped Baldy his first ever defeat.

Another potential opponent that fans are hoping will make an appearance in "One Punch Man" season 2 is the Human Monster, Garou, who is the titular antagonist in the manga's "Human Monster Saga." Garou's purported appearance could also bring in the Monster Association, a group of Demon Level monsters hell-bent on bringing the Hero Association down. Demon Level monsters are believed to be strong enough to send an entire city into ruins.

Garou and the Monster Association share a mutual hatred for superheroes, and their rumored arrival in season 2 may just bring Saitama closer to being defeated than he's ever been before. There are also speculations that this particular encounter may drain Saitama's powers, and it is when he is at his weakest that Lord Boros returns to deal the final blow.

Could "One Punch Man" season 2 finally feature the seemingly invincible Saitama at his most vulnerable? If and when this happens, how will he manage to overcome his defeat and rise again?

"One Punch Man" season 2 has no definite release date yet, but rumor has it that it may premiere in October 2017 since this was also in the same month back in 2015 that season 1 first aired.
