OnePlus 3 Plus, OnePlus 4 release date, specs news: OnePlus 3 Plus coming soon to rival new Google Pixel smartphones, to sport Snapdragon 821 CPU but without AMOLED screen?

The latest OnePlus 3 smartphone was released earlier release, sporting an impressive lineup of specs and a very reasonable price tag. The tech enthusiasts today have started to take a liking on the latest OnePlus models, as they look forward to the next iteration of the mid-range handsets. There are rumors that the arrival of the powerful OnePlus 3 smartphone will happen next year. However, before the OnePlus 4, the Android followers must first watch out for the rumored release of the OnePlus 3 Plus model in the coming weeks or months.

According to GSM Arena, it has been a while since the rumor of an impending OnePlus 3 Plus version release came up. The said OnePlus model, which is expected to be mostly the same with the original OnePlus 3 variant, is going to highlight a few enhancements. While the rumored specs and features of the OnePlus 3 Plus may not be as huge as that of OnePlus 4, the tech lovers might still consider the device as a must-have.

GSM Arena reported that the OnePlus 3 Plus may boast a powerful Snapdragon 821 processor and supported by 6GB RAM, thus the people can expect a faster and more efficient device over the original OnePlus 3. The Plus version is also expected to be a bit larger than the original variant, having at least a 6-inch screen display.

Interestingly, if the latest rumors are to be believed, the OnePlus 3 Plus may not sport the AMOLED screen display featured by the OnePlus 3. The online publication claims that OnePlus is currently going through shortage of AMOLED panel supply. With this, the OnePlus 3 Plus may switch back to the old LED screens. The rumored screen feature downgrade is expected to be offset by the improved core specs of the OnePlus 3 Plus, starting with the new Snapdragon 821 CPU.

On the other hand, it is believed that the upcoming OnePlus 3 Plus is intended to rival the newly released Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. According to Yibada, the high-end specs of the latest Google handsets will be matched by the features of OnePlus 3 Plus, which until now have not yet been revealed by OnePlus company.

While the OnePlus 3 Plus is expected to match the Google Pixel, next year's OnePlus 4 is slated to counter Apple's much awaited tenth anniversary iPhone model. OnePlus 4 might be at par with the iPhone 8, but just like its predecessors, it is expected to have an affordable price which might go as low as half the iPhone 8's final price.
